Please note: Our blends are salty by design; 4 Tbsp per lb is that bold, pit-smoked flavor you asked for. If you want a milder flavor we suggest using 2–3 Tbsp per lb.

Directions

Mix

  1. In a bowl, combine ground meat, Ancestor’s Whisper, onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms.

  2. Mix gently with your hands or a fork just until combined, don’t overwork it.

Shape

  1. Divide into 4 equal portions (about 4 oz each).

  2. Lightly flatten to ¾–1 inch thick patties. Press a small thumb dent in the center to prevent puffing.

Cook (choose a method)

Air Fryer:

  1. Preheat to 375°F. Lightly oil the basket.

  2. Air-fry patties 6–8 min per side (beef to your liking; turkey until done). Add cheese in last 1 min to melt.

Oven (Bake/Broil combo):

  1. Preheat to 425°F. Place patties on an oiled rack over a sheet pan.

  2. Bake 10–12 min, then broil 1–2 min for char. Add cheese at the end to melt.

Skillet/Griddle:

  1. Medium-high heat with a light oil film

  2. Cook 4–5 minutes each side.

Food safety: Cook beef burgers to 160°F (USDA) for well-done. Turkey to 165°F. Pink is a personal choice for BEEF ONLY.

Build

  1. Toast buns if you like.

  2. Stack lettuce, tomato, pickles, then your patty.

  3. Crown it and let the ancestors say “that’s enough, child.”

Tips from the Kitchen

  • Juicy insurance: Add 1 Tbsp miracle whip per lb to turkey mix if you want extra moisture.

  • Veg finesse: Finely dice peppers/onions so patties hold together; sauté mushrooms first if very watery.

  • Make-ahead: Form patties up to 24 hrs ahead; cover and chill.

  • Freezer: Wrap raw patties individually; freeze up to 2 months. Thaw overnight before cooking.
